What
is Feng Shui & Ch'I?
Feng
Shui translates as Wind & Water
and is over 3000 years old. Feng Shui is about creating an
environment where one can experience a full and productive life
based on the belief that surroundings affect behavior, health and
state of mind. Feng
Shui is an ancient echo art of design and placement whose purpose
is to balance life energies. The aim of Feng Shui is to help
people feel comfortable and energized in their home and workplace.
Through placement, colours and simple cures we can alleviate
energy blocks so that Ch'I or energy (ruach)
flows more freely in our homes and workplaces. Everything
is made up of energy. Living in harmony with energy is
critical to our feeling of well being. This means choosing a
location and interior design that will strengthen you, your family
and or your clients. Ch'I,
is thought to affect a person’s health, wealth & happiness.
All things have Ch'I energy: Acupuncture Practitioners use needles
to balance a person's Ch'I and Feng Shui practitioners use cures
to adjust Ch'I within the environment.
The goal is to create balance and a harmonious environment.
Today
we are conscious of the importance of proper nutrition, exercise
and rest yet we do not pay attention to the effect of our home and
workplace. The awareness of ones space is critical to ones well
being. Many people assume Feng Shui is an oriental form of
superstition. Why is it one feels alive in one room, and tired in
another? Some spaces
feel inviting and others uninviting?
The answer lies in Feng Shui or an "Aligned Interior
".
Most
cultures have used some form of Feng Shui or some way of reading
the environment to orient buildings and optimize the use of
energy. Feng Shui works with the flow of energy in our environment
as well as in our lives, homes and workplaces. Why do we feel more
comfortable in one room than another? Each place has its own power
and Feng Shui. Today
Feng Shui concepts are increasingly being incorporated in everyday
life.
What
happens when I make changes?
Very
often when we redecorate, reorganize the
office or carry out building work we inadvertently change the Feng
Shui in the process. When
we move we often inherit the Feng Shui of the previous occupants,
which generally takes about two years to create similar
circumstances for us unless we do something about it first. As a
general rule; if you are doing everything else right and things
are still not working for you; it's probably due to the Feng Shui.
Feng Shui is one of the easiest accessible means of change than
can be used to promote well being.
What
is a Feng Shui Consultation?
During
a consultation, the Feng Shui Consultant will ask you to fill out
a questioner about you and your environment. Combining the
information, we can then create a profile of how these patterns
are affecting you. After careful assessment of many interior,
exterior, and unseen factors, adjustments, remedies, and
Transcendental Cures may be suggested. These suggestions may
include interior color changes to the repositioning of furniture
pictures etc. Your
home and workplace acts as a mirror of you and your life's
cicumstances

BA
GUA
Feng
Shui has at its core the concept of the
Bagua (9 Life
Situations). The bagua is an energy map
based on the I Ching. Each
side of the bagua represents a different aspect of life "energy
centre". (Career,
Knowledge, Family,
Wealth, Fame,
Marriage, Children
and Benefactors.)
In the centre is the tai chi.
The center harmonized all the areas together and represents
health. The entire
diagram is over laid on a floor plan, house, or individual room.
You always align the bagua with the front door.
If the garage is attached to the home than it is considered
part on the home. If
you have an area jutting out it is considered an extension if the
extension is less than l/2 of the area it is considered and
enhancement, and if you have a missing area than you need a Feng
Shui Adjustment. The
bagua may also be oriented according to the most frequently used
entrance as well as the area with the heaviest traffic flow.
We look at the location to judge how Ch'I energy manifest
itself by laying the bagua map over the location which shows where
the different life stations appear on the overall house and
property. Than we find out what's going on in each room
separately. We focus
our intention into the person's home.
We offer Feng Shui solutions to enhance each one of these
locations. Through
our experience we find that when we work on different life
stations or different energy vortexes than things happen in the
corresponding areas of a persons life.
So through experience we find this ancient tool has
relevance for our modern lives.
Some people thing its hocus pocus or magic but when they
focus their intentions of making these recommended changes low and
behold people start experiencing a turn around. Your home and
workplace acts as a mirror of you and your life's circumstances.
Color
directly affects the way we feel, and is
used to create a desired effect in a room. . In Feng Shui the Ba
Gua with its corresponding colors and elements are used to enhance
the flow of Ch'I.
